Dear Sir:

We are sorry if we offended you. Our team has been operating on a limited capacity due to the pandemic safety guidelines in place, and because different members of our team are assigned to monitor different email accounts and report to work on different days, there have been lapses on our part in keeping track of all the messages and handling the submitted documents. We apologize for that.

To this end, we have taken corrective measures in our internal office communication protocol, particularly in improving our monitoring system for logging submitted documents, to make sure that this does not happen again.

Again, please accept our sincere apologies.

Respectfully,

Dear UST Publishing House

You know that this assertion is not true (a blatant lie) since it is required to submit a cover letter for manuscript submission. How can I as an author forget to send the contact details through the cover letter? If I did forget to include the cover letter (which is highly impossible), I emailed you on 7 February 2021 at publishing@ust.edu, the transcript is still available in my email and I quote from it: "Dear Sir: This is to acknowledge receipt of your manuscript, 2 hard copies and a CD, for evaluation. Thank you. UST Publishing House.” On that date, you already knew my email address as well as my telephone number as you can see below. So you cannot argue that you don't know my email address and telephone number. I followed up the following day on 8 February 2021 and on 14 July 2021 but did not get any reply. I even called your office on 18 November 2021 and after that date you should have exerted effort to contact me, to inform me about the status of the manuscript instead of waiting for me to follow up again two days ago or ten months after.

The honest thing that you can do is to admit your mistake and incompetence instead of blaming all this mess to me. In any case, I have submitted a letter to the rector detailing all this.

I am a published author abroad and this is NOT how they treat authors. They respond on time knowing that authors value time as they would want their works published as soon as possible. You are still far from becoming a "professional" publishing company that you aim for in your vision!

Keep the manuscripts and the cd because I would have someone pick them up in the coming days.

Sincerely

Dear Sir:

As we found no accompanying contact information in the manuscript sent to our office, our staff had to resort to other means to obtain your email address. We succeeded after inquiring from a representative of the National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA).

At any rate, we thank you for submitting your manuscript, “Ed maespiritu tan matua”: The Christian spiritist (A biography of Don Juan Alvear). We recognize its value, but we regretfully are unable to include your manuscript in the current editorial production. Should you wish to find a different publisher for your work, please feel free to do so.

Thank you for considering us as your first choice. We wish you success in finding a publisher for your work.

Sincerely,
